Deepika Padukone loses out to Anushka Sharma

They are friends but they could turn enemies if they let loose the knot. Model turned actors Deepika Padukone and Anushka Sharma, who hail from Bangalore, are in a fix. The reason being Anushka grabbing something what belonged to Deepika.

It is said that Deepika was the brand ambassador of a leading hair oil brand but Anushka has grabbed the pie now. She has already shot the commercial for the new campaign. It is said that she got the chance to endorse the brand with the help of Yash Raj Films.

The latest we hear is that Deepika was dropped from the commercial due to her excessive fee. She increased her fee as her popularity in the film industry grew and the brand just couldn’t afford her.

Well, we are yet to hear from the girls on this change of deal!

Rockstars on the ramp!

And there sure was for designer Manish Malhotra’s show at the HDIL India Couture Week on Wednesday night with Kingfisher playing host to the Good Times. The front row had Bollywood beauties Priyanka Chopra, Dia Mirza, Preity Zinta, Raveena Tandon, Sridevi, Kajol and Ameesha Patel in support of good friend Manish.

Raveena walked in with hubby Anil looking elegant in a black short dress, while Dia carried off a white number in style. Preity Zinta, Sheetal Mafatlal and Sophie Choudry were all dolled up in Manish’s creations. But it was Priyanka Chopra who grabbed the eyeballs looking ultra hot and stylish in a short shimmery silver dress.

Taking ‘Destination Weddings’ as his theme, Manish presented a line of very wearable, sexy and glamourous mens and womens wear. With white drapes as the backdrop creating a tent-like ambience on stage, models strutted to the tunes of funky Bollywood hits wearing embellished lehenga skirts teamed with backless cholis and one-shoulder tops, sarees teamed with daringly low-cut blouses and halter kurtas.

The men sported sherwani jackets, waistcoats, blazers and well-tailored pants with much use of velvet. As the lights dimmed, people cheered and hooted for the showstoppers. Saif and Kareena strode confidently down the ramp hand-in-hand — he playing the charming nawab in a blue textured sherwani and she stealing the limelight in a baby pink lehenga with a sheer finish with pearls halter top – the perfect sexy bride. The chemistry between the duo was sizzling and Kareena pouted in pride as they happily posed for the shutterbugs.

Salman Khan paints on Katrina's gown

It was celebrities galore at Salman Khan’s Being Human show at the HDIL India Couture Week. Actors from Aamir Khan to Ajay Devgn to Sanjay Dutt and many others walked the ramp for the cause but one person who grabbed the attention was Katrina Kaif.

But why only Katrina? Well, the gown that she wore on the ramp has one of Salman’s famous paintings. The black and skin-coloured gown designed by Shane and Falguni has a painting of a saint.

Katrina left the shooting of Rajneeti mid-way to take part in the show. It was worth it because she looked stunning on the ramp. It was no surprise, she was a model before foraying into films. Today, she is undoubtedly one of the top heroines in Bollywood with so many hits to her credit.

Salman also roped in actors like Aamir Khan, Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Saif Ali Khan, Govinda, Sanjay Dutt, Arbaaz Khan and Sohail Khan for his Being Human show.

But Shilpa says she has nothing to do with the selection of participants in the show where they spend up to three months locked inside a house, all their moves recorded by TV cameras.Talking about the attack on her, Shilpa said: "They wouldn't let me leave. And they were pelting stones at my car! What had my poor car done to earn their wrath? What have I done, will someone please tell me? Will Mr. Athavale and his supporters please understand that I had nothing to with the nomination of candidates for Bigg Boss?"Athavale's supporters ransacked the Mumbai office of the channel airing Bigg Boss and blocked the road outside soon after the show went on air last month. They even burnt Shilpa's effigies.

Kim Kardashian: Labor Day Dancer
(NSI News Source Info) September 1, 2008: Hoping to get a leg up on the competition as she continues to rack up hours in the studio, Kim Kardashian was spotted out for dance practice in West Hollywood on Labor Day (September 1).
Up early in the morning, the “Keeping Up with the Kardashian’s” star and her “Dancing with the Stars” partner Mark Ballas grabbed up coffee at Starbucks and gum at a gas station before heading to the dance studio to work on their moves.

Meanwhile, it seems as if Kim is contemplating getting an ink job, which she’s yet to have done so far.
She tells on her blog: “You guys are never going to believe this! I am actually thinking of getting a tattoo! Khloe just got a tattoo of my dad’s handwriting. I am so absolutely touched by it and think this is the coolest idea ever!”

Madonna and Guy Ritchie’s “RocknRolla” Evening
(NSI News Source Info) September 1, 2008: Enjoying a short break from her world tour, Madonna and husband Guy Ritchie were out on Monday evening (September 1) attending the world premiere of Guy’s new movie “RocknRolla”.
Arriving at Leicester Square just before the movie’s debut, Madge glowingly “walked arm-in-arm with Ritchie and posed for photographs before entering the Odeon West End cinema.”

Joined on the red carpet by stars including Thandie Newton and Gerard Butler, Madonna wore a short black Stella McCartney dress with jewels running down the front.
According to AP reports, “RocknRolla is set in London’s criminal underworld and features property scams and Russian mobsters. Ritchie wrote and directed the film, which is seen as his make or break movie following his last two efforts Swept Away and Revolver.”
And if all goes well, it wouldn’t be surprising to see a sequel in the near future, as Guy tells: “If people go and see this and like it I’ll make the second one straight away. It’s the kind of film I like. I’ve made a film for me. My inspiration came from the fact that London has changed so much in the last 10 years.”

Priyanka is a Bollywood's sweetheart: Bobby Deol

Priyanka is a Bollywod's sweetheart: Bobby Deol
(NSI News Source Info) Tuesday - September 2, 2008 Mumbai: Actor Bobby Deol says he would've been in a fix if Priyanka Chopra hadn't agreed to play a deglamourised role in his recently released home production Chamku, in which he has an author-backed role."Priyanka is a sweetheart. She plays a deglamourised role in Chamku. Most heroines wouldn't want to get into that deglamourous space, especially in a film that's driven by my character. But she agreed," said Bobby. While Bobby plays the title role of a maoist in the film, Priyanka, who is his love interest in the movie, is a schoolteacher and is seen mainly in plain chiffons.Bobby's elder brother Sunny too had serious problems finding a female lead for his home production, The Man. It was Shilpa Shetty who came to Sunny's rescue.Apart from Priyanka, Bobby is thankful to Riteish Deshmukh who plays a cameo in Chamku."Riteish was very sweet. He agreed to play the small part of my friend in Chamku without a second thought at a time when he's busy doing major projects," said Bobby who had once agreed to play Riteish's elder brother in Vikram Bhatt's Bardasht.Bobby has now another problem at hand. After losing 10 kg for his role in Chamku, he is now heavily into chocolates. And his family is very worried."It wasn't easy for me to lose weight. But once I made up my mind, I did it. But now I'm trying to make back that weight and bingeing on chocolates. I'm even stealing them from my sons," laughed Bobby.More dilemmas - Bobby had to cut his hair really short for the part."I was reluctant. But it was one of the pre-conditions for doing Chamku. I was wondering if I should grow it back to the way it was. I've decided to stick to short hair. I feel I can play more characters this way. Also, my hair dries after a shower even before I towel it. I also don't have to use any hair product."Released last Friday, the brutal film about oppression, injustice and Maoist rebellion was more in the news for its unusual title.Commenting on that, Bobby said: "I thought Chamku was just a working title. But it's my character's name. And it completely fits in."Bobby plays a guy from Bihar, who becomes a Naxalite after his family is brutally murdered."I play a guy who never gets choices in life. He has no beliefs, no desires until he meets a woman who makes him realise he has the right to happiness."Bobby recently appeared on the reality show Dus Ka Dum, being hosted by Salman Khan, and says it was his first ever appearance on any such show."It was my first reality show, and with Priyanka. In the beginning I was nervous. I've known Salman for years. He used to take me horse riding and for bike stunts. In 2000 and 2003 we did stage shows together. He made me comfortable on the show. So did Priyanka," he said.

Bollywood's Sexy Chic....Playboy wanted to shoot my photos: Poonam Jhawer

Bollywood's Sexy Chic....Playboy wanted to shoot my photos: Poonam Jhawer
(NSI News Source Info) September 2, 2008: After making her debut in Bollywood opposite Suniel Shetty in Mohra, sensuous Poonam Jhawer was lost in the ocean of Hindi cinema. However, she soon came back as an performer and singer and top of that THE YOUNGEST FILM PRODUCER And today, she is a singer, model, actress and a film maker. She will soon be seen on the silver screen in a country-girl avatar.
But this definitely doesn’t mean that she won’t be doing photo shoots any more. Poonam has recently done a very ’sensuous yet decent’ photo shot which she says she took up to break free from the ’simple and sweet girl’ image. “I have recently done a very sensuous yet decent photo shoot. So far I have done hot and happening videos but for some reason people always had an impression that I am a very simple, innocent, perfect-for-sareers kind of girl. And I wanted to break free from this image and for that I did this photo shoot. It is not at all vulgar or cheap. I had got an offer to do a photo shoot for playboy but I rejected it because it was a nude shoot and I an definitely not comfortable going nude in front of the camera,” she says. And reportedly Poonam was all set to pose for Playboy Centrespread, a legendary magazine that is known to fascinate men all over the globe. Sadly, the photo shoot that all the men have been waiting for has not come out yet. “Yes, it is true that I was offered to do and photo shoot for playboy. But I rejected the offer because it was a nude shooting and I am not comfortable with it. Agents from Playboy had come to India and when they saw my photos they thought that they should sign a photo shoot with me. I met them and the moment they said it is a nude shoot I declined from doing it.”
Poonam must have definitely lost out on a lot of money due to this. However she says she simply doesn’t care about money. “I really don’t care about how much they were ready to pay me for that. If I am not comfortable with something, then I don’t even bother to ask about the amount,” she says.

No Marriage plans with John Abraham: Bipasha Basu

No Marriage plans with John Abraham: Bipasha Basu
(NSI News Source Info) September 2, 2008: When I meet her for this interview at Yashraj Studios, Bipasha Basu tells me that she is more than happy with the fact that since the time that she had made her debut in Bollywood with Abbas-Mustan’s Ajnabee, she has made rapid strides as an actress in the last eight years and carved for herself a niche in the industry.
“It has been a learning process for me from Ajnabee till my latest release- Bachna Ae Haseena. I have learnt everything on the job slowly and steadily unlike then new comers today who come prepared even with their first film.”
Bipasha confesses that she has matured with time and become more responsible, as an actress. “I am glad I could live to see a film of mine celebrating its golden jubilee like my second film after Ajnabee- Raaz did.
I am not bragging about it but genuinely I feel sad that today it is not possible for any actor, including John Abraham to celebrate the jubilee of his or her film, since a stage has come when a film has got to recover its cost in the first three days of its release with films having become a big business with the mushrooming of the multiplexes.”
Bipasha admits that she enjoyed working with Ranbir Kapoor in Bachna Ae Haseena. “I had a fabulous time playing the character of the Shiamak Davar dancer Radhika in Bachna Ae Haseena” Bipasha recalls the fact that while doing a dance number for the film, she even had a tear in her meniscus but continued to perform after a physiotherapist was brought to the sets and kept on stand by to attend to her.
According to her, the choreographer Ahmed Khan manipulated the steps in such a way that the weight was there only on the left leg and the best thing was that when she saw the film, it looked like she was not at all in pain when executing her steps.
Bipasha is angry when you ask her how comfortable is it to be pitted with a young guys like Ranbir Kapoor in Bachna Ae Haseena and Neil Mukesh in Freeze, who are younger than her. “Why is an actress who has not even touched 30 labelled as a senior actress just because she is cast opposite new actors like Ranbir and Neil, who are younger to me just by two to three years? Aishwarya Rai has married Abhishek Bachchan who is three years younger to her but has it in any way changed their relationship”?
Bipasha feels that it is unfair that there is an anti lobby for a woman when she is cast opposite a younger actor even though she does not sport wrinkles. “Why is it that no one has any objection when an actor like Nana Patekar or for that matter Anil Kapoor is cast opposite actresses who are half their age?
There was no hue and cry raised when Akshay Khanna was teamed in Dil Chahta Hai opposite Dimple who is senior to him by 25 years. It is indeed high time that women are given a break.”
Bipasha feels that she has not been given her due as an actor though she had given an award winning performance in Corporate because of limitations.
“There are many reasons why I am not offered good films. I do not belong to any particular camp like some other actresses. It is well known fact that I have a boy friend who I do not hide in my closet. All said and done, we should not forget the fact that it is a hero oriented film industry and I cannot ask for more than what I being offered.”
Bipasha is now getting opportunities to prove her mettle as an actress. Among the films that she has up her sleeves are Freeze directed by Jehangir Surti and Pankh directed by Sudipto Gupta. While Freeze in which she has been teamed opposite Neil Mukesh is a romantic thriller, Pankh is a psychological thriller which deals with the psyche of a young boy who has to play a girl child because of his mum’s pressure. I play this interesting imaginary character of a woman who guides him through his turmoil.”
Bipasha is frank enough to admit that she could identify a lot with the character of Radhika which she had essayed in Bachna Ae Haseena, because Radhika is a contemporary young independent young woman like Bipasha is. “Your first love can end in marriage if you are lucky. Also you can fall in love any number of times till you end up meeting your ideal soul mate. It is all a question of your luck.”
Bipasha does not mind admitting that love is her top priority in life even though she is a career woman. “What would you do in life if you are busy 24/7 with only your work and have no one to share your life? However, in case you want to know when I am planning top plunge into marriage with John, let me confess that as of now there are no marriage plans for us though we do not hide the fact that we are seeing each other and are in love. What I like the best about John and myself is that both of us do not carry the baggage of being stars. We are like-minded soul mates who do not like to hide behind sunglasses.”

Katrina Kaif the new age Padosan

Katrina Kaif the new age Padosan
(NSI News Source Info) September 7, 2008: The movie bosses of Padosan remake have finally found their Padosan in Katrina Kaif.
An official from Shemaroo films confirms, “Sanjay Dutt will play the role of Kishoreda, Ritiesh Deshmukh Bhola (which was played by late Sunil Dutt), Katrina Kaif Bindu (Saira Bano) while the role of Mehmood’s Master Pillai will be played by Paresh Rawal so the film will have great combination of comedy.”

Katrina Kaif is apparently very much excited about playing new age Bindu, a source says, “She will be playing the role of Bindu in the remake. The shooting will start when she finishes all her prior commitments.”
Most likely it will take place in early 2009. Katrina is very excited to essay the role of Bindu which Saira Banu had played in classic. This film is one of her favorites.”

Salman ignores Lara Dutta on ‘Dus Ka Dum’

Salman ignores Lara Dutta on ‘Dus Ka Dum’
(NSI News Source Info) September 8, 2008: As Salman’s ‘Dus Ka Dum’ is all setting up to wrap up, it has a lot of guest celebrities in store for its viewers. After Jeetendra and Tushaar Kapoor, Rani Mukherji, Lara Dutta and Rakhi Sawant will be seen sharing the television screen with Salman in the show.

Salman is known to get along very well with his celebrity guests and this was evident with the way Salman was made the studio echoed with laughter and enjoyment as entertained everybody with spotty one-liners. One thing which was very very obvious was Salman’s cold behavior with Lara. He mingled quite well with Rani and Rakhi, but not with Lara Dutta.
In fact, Lara felt completely ignored as Salman gave her a cold shoulder and didn’t even speak to her much. This behavior of Salman has its roots to the time when Lara refused a role in his next ‘Main aur Mrs. Khanna’ on the plea that her role was very short. But then Sallu Mian was shocked when she went ahead and agreed to do a smaller role in Shahrukh’s ‘Billoo Barber’.
Salman made no efforts to hide the cold vibes between himself and Lara. Whether his behavior was justified or not, is up to you to decide.

SRK, Aamir make film history

The world is waiting to see them together. And Raj Kumar Santoshi would have actually managed this coup. The film-maker had cast Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan in his film London Dreams, a story about two friends, both musicians. At that it was to be titled Rashque(jealousy in Urdu). For three nights Santoshi even managed to get Bollywood's two most charismatic stars together for a joint narration.

A trade source says, “In principle both actors loved the script, said they wanted to go home and sleep over it before they started principal photography. But for months on end, Raj Santoshi chased both actors independently and neither of them reverted.’’

Santoshi’s London Dreams is now a Vipul Shah franchise with Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan. When Santoshi was making it, Aamir was to do Salman Khan’s role and Shah Rukh was to do Ajay Devgan’s part.

However the reason why the Aamir-SRK joint project came to memory is because on the sets of 3 Idiots Aamir started a guessing game in his vanity van at Filmcity where he asked film-maker Raj Kumar Hirani, co-actors Boman Irani and Sharman Joshi and everyone else present whether they remembered the only film in which he and SRK had been together.

Of course everyone came up with a blank...and at the end of 15 minutes Aamir winked naughtily and said, “you guys have missed a moment in film history. Shah Rukh and I were together in Ashutosh Gowarikar’s Pehla Nasha way back in 1993 where we gave one shot in the same frame at a film premiere sequence.’’

While it being seriously debated whether SRK and Aamir will do Anurag Kashyap’s Bombay Velvet as a team, sources close to both actors say it is highly unlikely that these two will ever be seen in the same frame again.

On the sets of his film Lajja in 2003, Raj Santoshi had categorically said that Aamir and Shah Rukh would not do a film together; and even Ashutosh Gowarikar who managed the coup when he was still a struggling director also hinted that it is unlikely that his Lagaan and Swades leading men would ever be together in the same frame.

Some things are just not meant to be, we guess.

A Jackson Song Arrives, and the Discussion Begins

At midnight on Sunday, the new Michael Jackson single, “This Is It,” became available for streaming on michaeljackson.com. Jon Pareles, the chief pop critic of The New York Times, and Jon Caramanica, a regular contributor to The Times’s pop coverage, discuss its merits, and the striking resemblance to a 1991 song recorded by the Puerto Rican singer Safi

JON PARELES Michael Jackson’s commercial afterlife starts today with “This Is It.” Maybe there should be a question mark at the end of the title — or, perhaps, a slight expansion paraphrasing Peggy Lee: “Is this all there is?”

Touted as brand-new, it’s not. It has much in common — its melody and many lyrics — with “I Never Heard,” a song written by Mr. Jackson and Paul Anka before Mr. Jackson’s “Dangerous” album and shelved. “I Never Heard” surfaced in 1991 near the end of an album by the Puerto Rican singer Safire. She sang with what now sounds very much like Jackson’s phrasing, and a lot more joy.

Safire’s “I Never Heard” exults in an unexpected romance. For “This Is It,” the lyrics got a telling rewrite. Safire sang, “In the light of the world, love is grand,” but Jackson’s version changes it to the considerably more messianic, “I’m the light of the world, I feel grand.” And later, “I’m the light of the world, this is real.”

Jackson still sings about being a lover in “This Is It,” but I don’t hear romance. Now, especially since the song is attached to memorials like the rehearsal-footage movie, also called “This Is It,” and a blatantly greedy album — the big hits yet again, two versions of “This Is It” and a handful of demos — “This Is It” becomes one of the Jackson songs that conflates his own stardom with universal love and uplift. Love Michael Jackson and heal the world; it was the kind of promise he could make when he was pop’s global superstar. (And the song may well have been set aside because Jackson used the same hymnlike tempo and ascending harmonies in “Heal the World.”)

The vocal starts with the breathy jitters that added another level of tension and syncopation to Jackson’s dance tunes, but soon smoothes itself out. Over Jackson’s piano-and-voice demo, the production waxes reverent: rising massed strings, genteel guitar tickles, his brothers in the Jacksons going “Ooh.” The free stream on michaeljackson.com is the orchestra version; the “album version” Epic sent the media takes off the strings, an improvement that unveils all the vocal harmonies and the finger snaps.

No funk here: it’s the posthumous, all-sweetness-and-light Jackson that his family is determined to sell. But at least he sounds human, especially at the end, where he lets the vocal line take a few tentative leaps. The vulnerability — especially at the beginning, as he counts off the song — is the endearing thing about “This Is It.” But what was he thinking as he sang, “I’m the light of the world?”

JON CARAMANICA Oh, dear — it’s an unfortunate coincidence, I’m guessing (hoping?), that the ad I’m seeing on michaeljackson.com is for “Gone Too Far,” the MTV reality-intervention series premiering today and starring D.J. AM, another 2009 victim of a drug overdose.

Or perhaps that’s reflective of the fumbling hands with which this song has been released. As mentioned here and elsewhere, these lyrics have been heard before. On the stream, the recording of the vocals is fuzzy, and the mix is far from perfect. And the song itself never fully resolves, working at one melodic and emotional pitch and then fading out.

“This Is It” does have that naĂŻve quality that Jackson managed to hold on to through the early ’90s, only completely losing it in the face of media scrutiny and his own melting under it. (So glad you mentioned “Heal the World,” a far better and possibly smarter song built from largely the same building blocks.) But as a musical artifact, it’s better as suggestion than song: what I hear here is how Mr. Jackson might have sung these words in a proper studio setting, perhaps in a roomier arrangement with more motion in the rhythm.

And it’s an odd choice to signal Mr. Jackson’s re-emergence. The song itself is a trifle, a mildly ornery and defensive lyric over a sketch of lush harmonies to come. For “Michael Jackson: The Lost Tapes,” maybe, it would be a welcome curio, but ultimately “This Is It” sticks out as a song chosen more for its title than for its meaning. My fear, J P, is that it’s not a question mark missing after those words, but a period.

Ajab Prem... music a must hear

Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani
Music Director: Pritam Chakraborty
Lyricist: Irshad Kamil
Singers: KK, Alisha Chinoy, Atif Aslam, Javed Ali, Kailash Kher, Neeraj Shridhar, Sunidhi Chauhan, Mika Singh, Hard Kaur, Soham, Rana Mazumdar, Ashish Pandit and Suzzane D Mello
Rating: ***

Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, which stars Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif, is music director Pritam Chakraborty's eighth release this year and he has once again done a great job by composing music that is energetic, contemporary and pleasing.

Aa jao meri tamanna sung by Javed Ali is a breezy song. The combination of high and low pitch vocals gives this romantic number an edge. In short, it is sweet and hummable.

The song also has a remixed version, which is faster in pace. But the original is much better.

Follow me is a hip-hop number and has Hard Kaur behind the mike. It has a contemporary feel and Hard Kaur excels in what she does best - rap.

Next in line is Main tera dhadkan teri, which is a power-packed song with vocals by three talented singers - KK, Sunidhi Chauhan and Hard Kaur. The energetic track has good musical backing.

The remixed version of Main tera dhadkan teri has nothing extraordinary to offer.

Oh my god sung by Mika Singh and Sunidhi doesn't impress much. It starts with the typical wedding music, but lacks punch and good lyrics.

Up next is Prem ki naiyya, a confluence of rustic vocals and western music that has been crooned by Neeraj Shridhar and Suzzane D'mello. But this song does get a tad boring.

The remixed version too doesn't have anything new to offer.

Tera hone laga hoon, another mushy offering by Pritam, is a song already popular on the radio and music channels. Sung by Atif Aslam and Alisha Chinoy, it starts with English lyrics and then graduates to Hindi. It's a beautiful, soothing love ballad that is well sung.

The remixed version has more beats and increased pace.

Finally there is the best song of the album - Tu Jaana na. It has three versions apart from the original, which starts with a chorus. It's a soft song by Atif Aslam that instantly strikes a chord with the listener. The musical backing is neither too low nor too loud. The vocals are a plus for the song.

Next is the remixed version of the song, which is disappointing. The beats in the song seem to be forced and not properly placed.

Then we have the reprise version sung by Soham, Rana Mazumdar and Ashish Pandit. It is quite similar to the original song; only that the singers are different. Nonetheless, a nice version.

Finally there is the unplugged version, which is the best. Kailash Kher's voice takes the song to another level altogether. One can listen to this song again and again for its soul-stirring effect.

On the whole, the music of Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani is a must hear and has the potential to be on top of the charts.

Shilpa shows Jermaine the Taj

In fact, Jermaine was the one who give Shilpa a lot of moral support when the actress had to face some rude comments made by Jade Goody. And it’s only natural that the actress would want to meet him during his visit to India. And while Shah Rukh Khan is throwing a party for him on October 14, the Bollywood hottie, yesterday fulfilled a wish that was on Jermaine’s list when he had planned this trip to India. When Shilpa got to know that Jermaine wanted to visit the Taj Mahal, she decided to arrange a visit for him.

“They both flew to Delhi yesterday afternoon and then went to Agra,” says a source. Shilpa also had beau Raj Kundra for company on the trip. Shilpa, who’s happy to meet her Big Brother inmate, says, “I am very happy that Jermaine could come to India. He and I share a great bond ever since we hit it off when I was in the show. He is a very nice person and I wanted to make this tour a memorable one for him. And what can be better than the Taj Mahal to make it special? Nothing can be more memorable.”

'Two flops don't matter to Salman's career'

Prem Soni is one lucky director. In his very first film, he has managed to rope in Bollywood's top stars -- Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor. Not only that, he's also releasing his film Main Aurr Mrs Khanna on the Diwali weekend, a much-coveted Friday for most producers when the biggest movies get released.

Quite an achievement for for the first-timer, who lived in Spain for 17 years before he joined the Hindi film industry.

"I come from a business background," he says. "I had no connection with the film industry. But I've always wanted to make a film."

He decided to pursue his passion by getting the basics right. "I worked in television for more than a decade before I decided to do films," he says.

He spent two years writing on different subjects until he came out with the script for Main Aurr Mrs Khanna. And it was this script that attracted his lead stars -- and producer Sohail Khan -- to his film.

London Dreams my first authentic Bollywood film'

Though the actress has worked with veterans like Aamir Khan, Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan quite early in her career, it’s strange that she always gets sidelined in the promotions. “Salman and Ajay are obviously a double dhamaka in the film. But I am happy with whatever I have got till now,” says Asin about working along side two known actors. She adds, “I do have an important part to play in the film. So it is for the audience to decide how good my screen presence is.”

With exposure becoming the trend in the industry, how open is she to two-piece action? “It is very subjective. It depends on how comfortable I am with the role and with the team.” However, she does not rule out the possibility, “if I’m being approached with a script that demands me to expose.”

Interestingly, Asin is one of the few actresses who have shown that an actress can be friends with her female colleagues. “I share a great relationship with all of my co-stars as I never come with expectations or pre-conceived notions about people who I work with. So I get to know them well.”

But what about rumours about her tiffs with Salman Khan? “Just tiffs? There are rumours about Salman and I having an affair as well,” she quips, adding, “These are all rumours and there is nothing more to it as we share a professional relationship.”

Asin further explains, “It is a very friendly professional relationship and not a robotic professional relationship. We are very comfortable with each other and would be promoting our film together.”

And is Katrina comfortable with this friendship? “That you’ll have to ask her. To me these are all baseless and ridiculous gossips, as I am not aware of any problem that she has with me. I have met her once and she is a very nice girl,” the actress signed off.
