Now, there may be nothing new about two actresses sharing the screen space, but it was different this time around because both these ladies shared pretty cold vibes sometime back. It was Kal Ho Na Ho that had sparked of a war of words between the two. However, there were no fireworks when the two shot for a song for the movie. In fact we hear Preity, who was down with high fever, refused to stall the shooting. On the sets the two got along fine and danced their hearts out.

Mallika Sherawat's lips get Hollywood fame!

mallika sherawat, Bollywood News
Famed celebrity photographer Patrick McMullan has crowned Mallika "most beautiful actress"!

While attending New York City's Fashion Week recently, Mallika Sherawat, the first Bollywood star officially recognized by Hollywood honored with a Resolution in her name from the City of Los Angeles, may have added another "first" to her resume.

Famous American photographer Patrick McMullan immortalized the lips of the bombshell, whose activities in America have brought her international recognition well ahead of the release of her newest film, "Hisss", the highly anticipated Indo-American production.

Mr. McMullan is known throughout the world as the preeminent photographer of A-list celebrities and the power elite. His collection is one of the largest archives of famous people in existence, including Salma Hayek, Angelina Jolie, Penelope Cruz, Julie Roberts, Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt and more recently, Mallika Sherawat.

Miss Sherawat was the special guest of McMullan for his Fashion's Night Out event and spywitnesses say the celebrated industry insider "gave an incredible public welcome" to the global glam gal with a "special introduction in front of celebrities and socialites as the
'Marilyn Monroe of Bollywood'", before taking "a very large number of photos" of Mallika to the delight of the crowd, even going so far as to comment in public, "Mallika, you are not only the most beautiful Indian actress, you're the most beautiful actress. Period!"

Our Fashion Week NYC spywitness said Mr. McMullan capped off the evening by asking Mallika if she was once referred to as "Bollywood's kissing queen" and upon seeing her smile, said "Let me capture those luscious lips on my camera" before he proceeded to take a close-up shot of the star's acclaimed kissing instruments, pictured below.

Mallika was then spotted downtown at NYC club Sutra for a friend's birthday party, where Guiness Book of World Record hip-hop artist Chaz Kangas serenaded Mallika with a custom-made freestyle rap in honor of the star.

Lara Dutta dismisses reports of rivalry with Sushmita

Lara Dutta dismisses reports of rivalry with Sushmita
I hope people will cast us again, she says

The two beauty queens became Miss Universe and later joined Bollywood. Now when they come together for a film, rumours of rivalry are bound to do the rounds. But Lara Dutta, who stars along with Sushmita Sen in comedy "Do Knot Distrurb", says they got along well and would love to work together again.

"Sushmita is a lovely person and we never had any problem working with each other. This (rumour) is generated for publicity, but there is normally very little truth behind the talk that we didn't get along," Lara told IANS in an interview.

"Our country has only two Miss Universes and if they also start fighting...it couldn't get sadder than that. I just wish I had more screen time to share with her, as we had not worked together earlier and it was a fantastic opportunity," she said.

Rumour mills were abuzz that the two actresses were having a cold war due to Lara's meaty part in the film directed by David Dhawan.

Lara hoped she would get a chance to work again with Sushmita, who was crowned Miss Universe in 1994.

"I hope people will cast us again at some other time. At least David (Dhawan) should do it again," said Lara, who was crowned Miss Universe in 2000.

Co-produced by Big pictures and Vashu Bhagnani, "Do Knot Disturb" is a laugh riot on marriage and infidelity. Releasing on Oct 2, the movie also stars Govinda, Riteish Deshmukh, Sohail Khan, Ranvir Shorey and Rajpal Yadav.

Throwing light on her character, Lara said: "I play Dolly who is sort of a pin-up girl for men. But her own life is very complicated as she loves a man who is her sugar daddy.

"She wants security too; so she has an ex-boyfriend who truly loves her and at the same time she also has an unsuspecting soul who enters her life and turns into her best friend. So it's complicated for her to decide what is it that she actually wants in life among security, love, compatibility and her best friend. That ties a knot in her life, which she has to unravel."

Comedy is Lara's forte as she showed her funny side in "Masti", "No Entry", "Bhagam Bhag" and "Partner".

"I love doing comedies. There's been an image of Miss Universe tagged to me and normally people associate me with being more cerebral and more poise because of the crown.

"But what people don't know is that I am very comic in real life too. Doing comedies just gives me an excuse to be who I am. And if people think it's great acting, it works for me," she said.

"Do Knot Disturb" is also Lara's third film with Govinda after "Bhagam Bhaag" and "Partner".

"I am very lucky to have got this film because if at all I consider myself to be a comic actress, then working with Govinda at least once is necessary. But I have had the opportunity to work with him for the third time and our fourth film ('Banda Yeh Bindaas hai') is also ready," she said.

"He is a fantastic actor and I got an opportunity to grow as a comic actor with him. He is one of those actors who can make people cry with his laughter and at the same time make them laugh with his crying," she added.

With other future projects like "Blue", "Housefull" and "Tom & Jerry" in her kitty, Lara is on a high with the way her career is shaping up.

"I am very happy. It's a good time and good place where I am right now," she said.

Salman Khan strips on demand!

salman khan photos
When was the last time you saw Bollywood Dude Salman Khan strip?

Not as in Wanted, his latest film that’s running to packed houses in seven out of ten Bollywood territories, where the macho star who plays a hit man displays his awesome eight-pack in the climax. But, say, on television... You haven’t in a while, right? Never mind, with Sallu, it’s sometimes difficult to keep his shirt on. And even if the star wants to, as he has been struggling to do so for recently, there are others with mischievous bents of mind who will not let him... Like Bollywood cronies Govinda, Riteish Deshmukh and David Dhawan, whose film Do Knot Disturb releases on October 2.

On television with Salman Khan, with David giving the lead, the trio stripped Salman Khan to the encouragement of applause from an admiring audience. The shirtless wonder was ill at ease and quickly buttoned up, saying, “There should be a reason to remove my shirt.” The reason was quickly provided by the TV studio audience. They refused to let the Salman-Govinda-Ritiesh-David show proceed until Salman Khan stripped off again. Bashfully, blushing and after some humming and hawing, Salman Khan agreed. But then, he quickly got into the groove and, in his uber cool style, grooved to O O Jaane Jaana... while stripping off. But, no, it wasn’t a striptease.

I'm really a shy girl: Sherlyn

"Aap mujhse sirf Hindi mein baat karna, mein andar reh ke English bhool gayo hoon," quips Sherlyn Chopra just hours after coming out of the Bigg Boss house.

Ask her why she thinks she was evicted and pat comes the reply, “The biggest reason for me being voted out is that I became friends with Kamal Khan and continued it for two weeks.” Does she regret it then? “Of course! I feel bad when I think why I did what I did. Maybe I had created such an image that forced people to nominate me.” But she’s emphatic that the housemates judged her too soon. “I was stunned when my name (for the eviction) was announced. Earlier, the housemates would say that I don’t interact with them much, but when I tried to change myself, they said I was being fake.”

So who does she think is the meanest person in the house? “During the first two weeks, I was the one being the most. But later…I guess Vindu couldn’t understand me properly. I considered him to be my brother and he turned against me. Jab mein ghar se nikal rahi thi, toh bhi unhone mujhe kuch neech baatein kahi.”

And how does she respond to people who think her coy demeanour inside the house was a jarring change from her otherwise outrageous image. “I know I project myself as really outrageous. But I’m a really shy girl. Even the performance I did (when she stripped on the show) was in complete jest. I even said that I intended to do a sensual act, but ended up doing comedy. Mujhe nahi lagta jo maine kiya ashleel tha.”

Did she feel marginalised in Dil Bole Hadippa? “Don’t judge me on the basis of that role, there wasn’t any substance in that role. I want to play roles that establish me as an excellent actress or an artist,” she concludes.

We are in no rush to get married: Saif-Kareena

Bollywood superstars Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor have no plans to get married soon as they believe that this might impact their career.

The Bollywood stars, who have been constantly surrounded by wedding rumours since they started dating two-years ago, said that they are happy to be in love and would like to focus on their career and relationship at this point of time.

"We have not really addressed that issue (marriage).

We do talk about it but right now I think Saif wants to set up his production house and I want to do some more great roles," Kareena said, while speaking at the HT Leadership Summit.

Khan, who debuted as a producer recently with 'Love Aaj Kal' backed his lady love on the topic of marriage, saying, "There is no rush to get married.

Ranbir's Ajab Prem... creating waves

This is going to be a ghazab ka phillum simply because the hottest sensations of Bollywood, Katrina Kaif and Ranbir Kapoor, are coming together

on screen as a jodi for the first time.

The promos of Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani already have people rating them as a hit. Tips Films, which is presenting this romantic comedy, believes that it has a winner, given its earlier track record — Race and Kismat Konnection. Like Ranbir and Katz, producer Ramesh Taurani too is excited about his offering because it’s directed by Rajkumar Santoshi who has given hits like Andaz Apna Apna, Barsaat, Damini and many others. “Ajab... is even more hilarious than Andaz Apna Apna,” said Taurani, “in fact, if Andaz had comedy, Ajab has comedy and romance in it.”

Telling BT why they chose Ranbir and Katz, Santoshi said, “The film required a fresh pair. We were very impressed with Ranbir and Katrina. They have great screen presence and their fans will love them in this film.”

The stars hit it off instantly on day one. They shot extensively on exotic locations in Turkey, Goa and Ooty, and like in the film, they had fun on the sets too. “Don’t go by her looks, she’s a bully,” said Ranbir as Katrina smiled and added, “People across all sections will be able to relate to this film.” The music, too, is catching on with audiences and topping charts, especially the song Tera Hone Laaga Hoon.

“The song wasn’t choreographed as such. The two were told to be natural and their screen presence added magic to the song,” said the filmmakers. Pritam, who scored the music, roped in some big singers like Atif Aslam, Kailash Kher, KK, Sunidhi Chauhan, Alisha Chinoy and Hard Kaur for this rom-com which is set to hit theatres on Novembe 6.

Hrithik gets cosy with another woman

Though Hrithik is paired opposite Aishwarya Rai in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Guzaarish, it's Monikangana Dutta who will get to perform all the intimate scenes with the actor.

Monikangana Dutta plays Hrithik's former love interest in Guzaarish and Bhansali wants to establish a sizzling chemistry between the two. So expect oodles of intimate scenes. The newcomer of course is quite nervous and has been talking to Sussanne Roshan to ease her nerves.

Who can forget how Hrithik Roshan's cosy chemistry with Barbara Mori became talk of the town. And we wonder, if rumourmongers will leave the very married man and his lady out of unnecessary gossip sessions.

The intimate scenes will be shot during the film's next schedule in January in Goa.

Ranbir rushes to Goa for Katrina's rescue

It's so hard to capture the very essence of what makes Goa irresistible, we all know the beaches, the fenny, the laid back lifestyle, but it's the romance, the charisma, the intoxicating feeling of this exotic locale that Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani tries to build into its story line. The Rajkumar Santoshi film, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif is all about fun, romance and feeling good- same things that Goa stands for.

So what's the couple doing in Goa? We heard that Ranbir plays the knight in shining armour as he heads down to Goa to save his lady love Katrina, in the film, who is being held captive there. In his true superman avatar (Prem from the film posters), Ranbir goes in for some must watch action moves and rescues the damsel in distress and rides away on, no not a stallion, but a Enfield Bullet.

This shot, as we are further told, is a prelude to the action and song sequences, while the rest of the film is shot in the quaint town of Ooty, the lovely songs in the film are shot in mystic Turkey. With a striking star cast and picturesque sites, it's definitely one film worth the watch. Ranbir and Katrina

Katrina shares sizzling chemistry with co-stars

Bollywood actor Katrina Kaif hails energy level of his co-star Ranbir Kapoor on the sets of their much-awaited film Ajab Prem Ki Gajab Kahani (APKGK). After delivering some serious films, director Rajkumar Santoshi is all set to provide the audience with a breather with his upcoming romantic comedy APKGK. With a title that is too long, and quite unlike a typical Bollywood name, the forthcoming movie has already made its presence fel

And the other thing making news is on-screen chemistry seen in promos and off-screen chemistry seen in media briefings between actor Kaif and Kapoor. The actors have been paired for the first time for this romantic comedy. Kaif while talking to reporters at a promotional event here on Friday said that they gelled well with each other because of their similar working style of keeping the energy flowing on the film set.Kaif recalled the entertainment on the sets of the film and said that when the filmmaker is passionate then the energy level on the sets is much better. "In this film Ajab, baseball I think it was. Baseball in between every shot we have like cameraman assistants and the lighting guys and every one together playing baseball. I think I was wearing some weighing dress but still I managed to play. It's just the matter of wanting to be on the film set. If you are working with someone who wants to be there and then passionate about making films because that's what they love doing, then the energy is so much better."The film is a romantic tale of two youngsters, Prem and Jennifer, played by Kapoor and Kaif. Shot in Ooty, Goa
, Mumbai and Turkey Ajab Prem Ki Gajab Kahani is slated to release on November 6.

Raj Gives Shilpa a Big Rock

Finally, Shilpa Shetty has become engaged to her beau Raj Kundra. I imagine Shilpa’s father thought he’d never get her off his hands! The event took place at Raj’s residence in Mumbai and was essentially a family affair - although of course Shamita was absent as she’s currently locked up in The Big Boss house.

“It's been a time of both joy and sorrow for me, the joy is obvious because Raj and I feel happy to take our relationship to the next level, but my sister Shamita is still in the Big Boss house and could not attend,” Shilpa blogged, “She doesn't even know but another good mahurat was a long way off and considering Raj's parents and relatives were down from London for a week, it seemed convenient.” Shilpa’s outfit for the engagement was designed by Manish Malhotra and Tarun Tahiliani will design her wedding dress.

“I can't talk about the details of the outfits but I can tell you that she will look absolutely stunning,” he said at the Wills Lifestyle Fashion Show where he is preparing his collection for later this week. He has also promised to design her mehendi and sangeeth outfits as well. Raj presented Shilpa with an engagement ring valued at 3cr for their betrothal, but as Raj - the UK’s richest young British Asian - owns a gem company or two, it’s possible he was able to get a discount. Shilpa has to get back to work this week to finish Desire, the Indo-Chinese English-language film in which she stars opposite The Painted Veil’s Xia Yu. She then hopes to announce the wedding date.

"I know everyone's eager to know the wedding date,” she sais, “All I can say is YES, it's been finalised. We will make an official announcement as soon as I know when Shamita's coming out of the Big Boss house!"

Now Shahid in airport trouble

Shahid Kapoor has become the latest Indian celebrity to get a taste of the racial profiling prevalent at US airports. The Bollywood actor had to wait for one and a half hour at the New York airport while his Man Friday, Mohammad Manjoor Allam (Mamu), was detained by the authorities for having a ‘common name’.
Mamu, who’s been with Shahid ever since the latter was a child, was not comfortable answering the questions in English and Shahid sat with him through the ordeal. His manager Rajnigandha Shekhawat confirmed the incident and said, “Shahid is shooting in US and does not want to talk about it. Mamu was grilled for a long time by the authorities.”
HT City spoke to people for reactions. Singer Shibani Kashyap said, “Even I was harassed at NY airport. The US authorities are paranoid.” Writer Alka Lal said, “One shouldn’t mind getting checked. They are doing it for security. Even David Beckham was recently detained at an airport.”

Salman Khan rules the ramp

Salman Khan rules the ramp
Salman Khan created a frenzy each time he walked down the ramp as part of Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week.

Salman Khan walked the ramp with Sushmita Sen and there was a small stampede caused by fans wanting more of their favorite actor. Salman wore a plain black shirt with a prominent belt.
A female fan informed “I saw Salman Khan walk the ramp but I want to hear him once”.
Dressed in designs by Sanjana Jon, , Salman hit the runway in his typical style and waved out to his fans in the audience. The jam-packed show area would go crazy each time Salman appeared on the ramp. Some one was heard saying, “I wish he removes his shirt!”…but Sallu left them wishing so!
Watching Sohail and Salman sharing the ramp left debutant designer Sanjana Jon teary eyed in remembering her brother Anand Jon, the famous Paris based Indian designer who is serving a prison sentence there.“Of course I am missing my brother, but I’m happy that I’ve got so many brothers now,” said Sanjana talking about Salman, Sohail, Vijender and the Bangash brothers – Ayaan and Amaan accompanying her post the show
